Upgrade help, please

Please forgive my MySQL ignorance, but in preparation for upgrading to 1.8, I am trying to upgrade my 1.7RC3 to 1.7.5. This is on a Win2k Server machine using IIS.

My question is relating to the .sql script:

If, after running tiki_1.7.xto1.7.4.sql I get the following error messages, did the database get updated, or does this mean the script aborted completely?

ERROR 1062 at line 1: Duplicate entry 'tiki_p_view_eph' for key 1
ERROR 1062 at line 2: Duplicate entry 'tiki_p_view_categories' for key 1

Thanks for any help!

hi bzahn

How did you run the sql script?

if you used tiki-install.php all should be good. if you used the mysql command you will need to use the -f parameter to force (continue on errors)

If your 1.7.5 is up and running and not complaining I would guess all was well, espeically if you used the tiki-install.php

Thanks for the quick response, Damian.

I did run it from mysql and I did use the -f parameter as Terris suggested. My Tiki is running OK, although there are some permissions problems I am clearing up (all are from the templates_c folder).

Do you recommend clearing the templates_c folder and letting those start over from scratch, or should I just fix the few permissions problems and continue as is?

Thanks again!

I tried the new System Admin menu option. That's nice. I see there is also an option for clearing the modules/cache/ folder. Is this something I *should* do or just something I *can* do?

Thanks for your help.

Its just another cache, if your playing a lot with custom modules, you'll need a option to clear it, If you use the default ones, your ok as you are.
