Mail Error Message

I'm getting a mail error message in the system logs when trying to use Plugin Invite. Does this error represent a problem with the code that needs fixed or is it an error with the server sending the email or could it possibly represent both? Is there any way to determine this?

Maybe yes, maybe no.

Hi gjwheat,

could you please provide more specific informations, for ex. which Version of Tiki, what are the settings (at least related to the problem - here usersettings / registration / login and maybe groups) and what you want to achieve.

Cheers
Torsten

Well, hopefully this isn't too much, but the site that is not working is running 8.3. I'm trying to use the plugin Invite to invite new users to the site and automatically assign them to a group. So as the admin I'm going in to the wiki page with the plugin, typing in the email address and selecting a group and hitting the invite button.

No email is sent (or at least received by the intended recipient). When I check the logs, I see that there is a mail error. I'm not 100% sure what that error represents.

This particular site is hosted on GoDaddy, and I know they are known to have issues. However, I have another site running 7.0 where this plugin works on a GoDaddy hosted account.

The settings are identical between the two sites, at least related to this plugin, so my thought is it's one of two things. First, something is broken with the plugin, although I can't image this is the case. Second, GoDaddy isn't letting the emails be sent. Although I'm not sure if this is the case because it works with the other setup.

So if I knew what the error was telling me, I was hoping I could get to the bottom of the problem.

I found a solution to this problem. It was actually with GoDaddy. When I changed the subjects for the emails to something hard coded, the emails were able to be sent.
