HELP!!! Problem with SEF feature

Hello All,

Please help me.

Using Tiki 10.0 So far so good for the last few months.

Then tried to activate the SEF feature from admin panel. Now, I cannot even get into my website or admin panel.

I get this error on my Firefox browser:

QUOTE
The page isn't redirecting properly.

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

cry
I'm using a shared hosting. So logged-in through cPanel-PhPMyadmin and deleted the rows in table tiki_preferences, related to sefurl

Still not working!!! cry

Meanwhile, site is down.

Please help.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Rick,

Thanks for your prompt reply and help.

Yes, it was a problem with the .htaccess file as well (the hosting company - Bluehost - uses a LAMP stack). The _htaccess file that I renamed was garbled (conversion problem between Unix & Windows editors).

So my "workaround" was:
- deleted the rows in DB table tiki_preferences, related to sefurl
- replaced with an old (tiki v9) .htaccess file

The website came back to life and I deactivated carefully the SEF feature (better safe than sorry!) Sorry for my conservative approach (in the Tiki learning process). Earlier had a WSOD issue with the multi-lang feature and deleted preferences rows again.

So much for the time being, but would love to use the SEF features so still looking for a cool "solution" without running into the same problem. biggrin

Hope to check out other forums for this.

Best!
