Hi Unclegeo,

Do you mean pictures that you add through a page edit window by clicking on the icon, or an attachment that you add by clicking on the Attach File button at the bottom of the page when viewing the page (not editing it)? Also, what version of Tiki are you using?

Sorry to answer your question with questions but just want to make sure I understand your situation before answering.

Lindon,

No problem, questions are good! I'm talking about using the Attach File button. I wasn't aware of the button in the editor. Will that stick them somewhere else?

Unclegeo,

Sounds like the setting "Use file galleries for wiki attachments" has been turned on. Go to Admin > File Galleries and deselect this option, which can be found on the General Settings tab.

If you are using attachments to show images, it's generally better to use file galleries, and this can be done by using the toolbar icon I mentioned above. That brings up a file gallery upload window that allows you to store the file in your choice of gallery.

Thanks Lindon,

I should have been more specific. I have pages that have information about individual legislators. I want to attach .pdfs, .doc, .odt, etc. EX: campaign literature. I.e., though I will use images too, it's mainly documents.

I disabled "Use File Gallery for Wiki attachments", made a test page and tried to attach a file and I get this:

Error: Cannot write to this file:../files/wiki/352c18f14bdb5f2738595015bb034e40

Okay, makes sense.

Looks like that directory is not writable. Would set the permissions appropriately for that directory and see if it works.
