    I am looking for documentation on the spreadsheet plugin. What it can do and how to use it. Any pointers?

    I'm looking to have a spreadsheet imbedded in a wiki page with some dynamic (+,-,/, SUM, MAX) calculations and I don't see how to do it. I can't even get a blank sheet to imbed in a page.

    How can one make the spreadsheet cells only have certain values, example a date cell should allow only dates or a number cell not all negative numbers.

    The other spreadsheet allows this with data validation on cells.

    Thanks, How can one use trackers to ensure that...for instance spreadsheet cells at example (colum 2, cells 5-6) can only have date values in this format MM.DD.YYYY

    Microsoft Excel allows such type of validation in the data option.

    Using Trackers is another way of handling your data. Read the docs.

    (If MS Excel provides the validation you need, why don't you use it, then?).

    Regarding Spreadsheets, you are free to request the improvements you need. Even if as I told you, with Trackers you could handle your data the way you are looking for.
    Or maybe Using a desktop app like LibreOffice or Excel you would have enough?

    We want to use the tiki's spreadsheet as it allows multiple people to use the sheet for updates and changes. Essentially the sheet is a schedule having dates and descriptions. Multiple people visit the site, make edits and save or then would have the option to download it.

    The edits should validate certain columns for correct date formats or certain row/colums not to have negative numbers etc.

    Since the data is in the mysql sql table we could also run some sql on the tables for some reporting.

    So that would rule out google docs or sharepoint (expensive to get a hosted sharepoint)..

    The problem was that there is a dependency on mbstring php code that is not available on Red Hat by default. On Red Hat the optional repository needs to be added to even be able to find it. The repository stuff does not apply to CentOS or Scientific Linux.
