cool

Well I dipped into the TikiWiki well again. Have installed the EasyPHP/1.7.5 Tiki version on Windows XP. After a few tweaks I have been able to get much of the basic stuff working.

However my observation is that at least the Windows version is too fragile for my tastes.

My latest travails were to get the image gallery to work. Used an image directory instead of the database. Uploads seem to work as I can see the files added to the directory. But they are not displayed.

Further work in this area caused further frustations as now the entire \template_c\ subdirectory is blank. Hence preferences.php is not found or functional.

I'll give a Linux OS based version a try. But right now I would not deem the Windows load a production quality system.

I like the features, the concept and where this is going. So I will be back.

Hi John,
the code generating preferences.php was commented due to apparent unusefullness.
The image galleries are known to be headache-related for some since at least 1.7.4. Try with the database, and also with Imagick. It's rather quick to install on Windows.
About templates_c/ being empty, it's not normal, but I think I heard that a few times. If you compile in Admin System, do you get something?
