    Another user posted the same about eight months ago, and it looks like the bug is still there.

    We tried dumping everything into a new instance, didn't work. Tried it again, but this time we copied preferences from the Control Panel first. It worked at this point, but after the dump from the database it no longer worked again.

    Any idea where this might be and how to fix it?

    the wiki documentation says that synchronization occurs only when the user logs on to the wiki, so if the user does not enter, then there is no account change. Perhaps you are using your LDAP synchronization module?
