There are two backends for Squirrelmail: the standard backend stores users' profile/preferences in text files (file_prefs.php), and the MySQL one stores them in a MySQL database (file_db.php).

This one adds an LDAP backend. However, things are treated much differently, due to the difference in nature between LDAP and other databases. Namely: LDAP writes are expensive. Extensive caching is used to reduce the overhead on the LDAP server, especially in a setup with a lot of users.

This site is a non vendor biased - neutral information portal. The discussion forums are not limited to any specific vendor product, but rather all products that use LDAP as the core technology.

This site is the ideal tool for developing small to large LDAP based architectures, intra/inter company portals, security protocols, authorization and single signon mechanisms, smartcard authentication and authorization modules, Identity Management, Federation, Web Services and much more.

Designed as a groupware, webbased contact manager, it supports ldap standards, works with ldap aware clients, or independantly. The first of its kind to include tools for importing MSOutlook contacts, ldap tree creation, and with interface designed for the end user. - This is NOT another ldap administration tool.

LABE stands for Ldap Address Book Editor.

LABE is a web application created to administrate a centralised LDAP directory, compatible with Mozilla, Evolution and Outlook.
