Problem

I'm really tired of reading the same long date format like Mon 21 Jun, 2004 11:38 UTC, I would defenitley prefer reading 2004-06-21, so i'm trying to figure out how to do this.

Solution

It seems to be feasable via configuring the Smarty Template output filer for dates.
My problem now is: where is that filter??

I failed in choosing an appropriate category for this page. Fill free to do it if you find a suitable place.
By the way is there a Best Practices category or something similar some where
