It is with great pleasure that the TikiWiki community releases TikiWiki CMS/Groupware 3.0 beta1

Tiki 3.0 is the major release, adding new features and bug fixes on the basis of the previous stable release, version 2.2

Interested users may try version 3.0 beta1 as of after the end of TikiFest Montreal 27feb3mar 2009. As promised when Version 2.2 was released Oct. 17, 2008, the production release of version 3.0 will take place in April 2009.

This beta release is available only as a full package.
The final release will be available both as a full package and as an incremental update to TikiWiki 2.2. The incremental package will require this version to be installed, and include only the files modified by the release. Users still using earlier versions (1.x or 2.0 and 2.1) should upgrade to 2.2 and/or contact their support team.

Work is ongoing on to make TikiWiki 3.0 the best production relase posible, when it is released in April 2009. The main focus of version 3.0 is on enhancements to the user interface, the admin interface, the theme system and built-in themes. Additional goodies include webservices and enhancements to the plugins will be reported here shortly.
