    • Forum cannot get mail from POP3 server

    hi,

    i'am running a tiki-wiki 1.9 rc3 on a FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE-p9
    The forums work ok, but when i configure a forum to get mails from
    a POP3 server i cannot get anymore on that forum.

    Behaviour : (explained by steps)
    1. i create a forum (lets say home_messages)
    2. the forum works ok : i can post/read/delete/coment on this forum
    3. i configure the forum to get mail from a POP3 server, providing
    pop3 server address, username and password (those information are correct: i checked and double-checked).
    4. When i click on the forum to view the posts on it, the browser seems to be loading something (for a very short period of time) and then nothing : i continue to see the forums list.
    5. i remove the mail feature from the forum
    6. when i click on the forum, the browser loads it, but there is nothing inside (didn't retrieve any mails)

    Hi

    That POP3 is library is GPL code and TikiWiki is LGPL, I wouldnt worry about it at this stage. Next week Im planning on removing it with some new self-written code!

    As your on 1.9 RC which is unstable development code, please wait for the new stuff to arrive.

    Are you sure you give the right account?
    Because it is working in 1.9 RC3 on my site (except the characters encoding)
    (perhaps a clue: a lot of hosting use the user name "your_name@your_domain.com "instead of "your_name" only)

    (in 1.9 cvs there is a test of your pop3 account in the mail-in feature... needs to ba added too in the forum)

    I have the same problem.
    I'm on 1.8.3 and I tried it on 1.8.4 as well.

    Redhat 9, php 4.2.x, mysql.

    I have setup a few forums, and 2 of are pop3 based.
    The first forum worked well, it can read the mail into the forum.
    The 2nd forum, everytime I click on the forum it seems to be working, then it displays the list of forums again, it doesn't go into the forum.... I am wondering if the pop3 library has any threading issues, or if the forum has a limitation of 1 pop3 account.


    Just to narrow in on this bug, do you have a working pop3 based forum already?

    Has anyone resolved this issue because I upgraded today using the download from sourceforge and I have this problem too.
