    Confession: I got in over my head.

    My website control panel can untar (it said unzip) the gz file. So I uploaded the 1.8.4 gz file to my server and clicked to unzip/untar. Then it told me the tiki folder, to which I'd uploaded the gz file, was empty, and I can't find where all those files went.

    Did they get put somewhere? Or did the process not get complete? Is there a link like www.mysite.com/install.php or something I need to call up?

    Well, I think this question is actually for your hosting providing to answer.

    Once extracted you need to setup the directory permissions, then run tiki-install.php

    Doing it the hard way ... unzipped to my pc, am uploading it now to my server. We'll see how it goes.
