Unique page names necessary??

😕
I've been trying to find info here about this but haven't managed to. I've been working on it for hours but I'm sure there must be a simpler way.

I'm building the basic structure of a wiki before it goes live. Here's an example of what I want to do:

Say I want to have a wiki where there are 10 cars listed. For each of these cars, there's a main page and the same set of three subpages e.g.
Maker Details
Owner Details
History

So, that's 30 pages all with identical layouts ready for users to fill with info.

The problem I'm having is with giving each subpage a unique link. I've been trying to create a structure that I can simply duplicate but of course, if I make changes to the Buick > Maker Details page, I end up with changes to the Chevy > Maker Details page because I've in effect only got one Maker Details page. How do I duplicate the Maker Details page 10 times into each category of car? Do I really have to create both a Buick - Maker Details page AND a Chevy - Maker Details page?

Any advice...?

bump...

I can't believe that no one else has never had this issue or that this can't be solved...

still working on it but no joy so far 😐

As far as I know, as of the current Tiki releases, wiki pages names have to be unique, so the only way to handle "parallel" pages in a tree is to give them unique names based on the parent or something else that makes sense.

If you use the wiki structure admin page to make your hierarchy of pages, it will make a line of "breadcrumb" links across the page tops for you. This is useful for pages arranged in a hierarchy or flat sequence; but of course this doesn't touch the content of the pages themselves or any links they contain.

I'd use templates to insert whatever is shared by the pages (or just copy and paste most of the pagae content) and then do the page-by-page editing the slow, one at a time way. If there isn't a lot of editing to do, 30 pages isn't really all that many. If there is some repetition or repetition with a little variation, sometimes I use a texteditor to hold lines that I copy and paste into wiki pages, rather than keyboarding everything in from scratch.
