I can see the side columns consistently in all the included Tiki themes, using Opera, Firefox, and IE on Windows, and Firefox and Galeon on Linux. If you or your users are having trouble in this area, it is likely due to something specific at your site, as far as I know.

As far as I know, the column-flipping code is independent of the theme, but is buggy at this time. The code is in the tiki.tpl template file and should work the same in all themes. But there appears to be a bug in the conditional statement for column flipping. As I wrote in a recent post here — to you or somebody else with the same question — if you replace "user" in these statements with "y", then the column-flipping works in all themes (well, I didn't test them all, just a few), overriding the Tiki Admin setting and forcing column flipping — that is, the controls show no matter what the Tiki Admin setting for column visibility is. As things are now, with unmodified files, when I turn the feature on, I only get the column flipping on admin pages and some ))MyTiki(( screens — no matter what theme.
