Buttons not displaying correctly

Hi,

I wonder if someone could shed some light on this problem:

Buttons seem to be displaying oddly. It happens whatever CSS file I use, and I just can't track the issue down. I've included some screenshots:

This happens in any user page when buttons are rendered, and the entire horizontal space to the right of each button becomes clickable as it's link. I'm sure they should render side-by-side:

If I'm reading the source right, the links seem to have a class of 'linkmenu'.

This happens in the main Admin page:

The links here seem to have a class of 'link', and each seems to be spanning 33% width of the centre column.

This happens in Admin/Features, and again the whole space to the right of the buttons is clickable as it's link. This is definitely wrong.

Here we are back to a class of 'linkmenu' again.

I just can't narrow it down - has anyone come across this, or does anyone know what might be causing this? It must be something common to all CSS files, but I have no idea what.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice,

James

This is happening with Safari, maybe? I don't have a modern Mac around to test with, but will see if I can find known issues that may be involved.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for the reply. I've just double-checked, and it happens in Safari (yes, my default browser), Firefox, Mozilla and Opera. I'm just about to fire up a Dell box we have lying around to see what IE thinks of it, but I'm pretty certain it's not browser or platform based.

Any other ideas?

James

Hi Gary,

I've just confirmed the same behaviour in IE running natively under XP.

What Tiki version is it, and what theme? Has the theme been modified in any way? What server OS?

Hiya,

Tiki 1.9.3.1, with a modified version of 'tikineat' (but as I said, it happens in all styles); Mac OS Server 10.4.6; Apache 2; PHP 5; MySQL 5

I'm pretty new to CSS, so I can't guarantee I haven't messed up, but I have been careful... is there anything I could have edited that would make this effect happen in other stylesheets? If I could just get a handle on where this is being generated...

James

I don't suppose anyone has any ideas on this?
