This is my process:

  1. Record any customizations that I made to any of the "core" Tiki files (i.e., anything other than my custom templates).
  2. Unpack all of the files over my existing files.
  3. Run the DB upgrade.
  4. Reapply my customizations (from step 1, above).
  5. Updated my custom templates to take advantage of any new features, if needed.
