a way to creat article foot/endnotes?

I'm wondering if there's a way one can create footnotes and/or endnotes in the TwikiWiki Article system? I'm trying this out and would love to use this for my students' collaboration on academic papers, but notation would be a necessary function.

Barring any way to do this in the system, can someone tell me if the Article system would support HTML markup of internal document links and superscriped note numbers?

Thanks!

Do you mean footnote notation, as on this page? These were done simply with the ALINK and ANAME plugins.

Excellent...that's just what I was looking for! Thanks Rick...

I only have one more question I though I'd ask while I look through documentation...is there any way to make an article editable only by certain individual members (or a group)? Or do I have to create distinct Topics? That's really the only other thing I'd really need for now...still getting used to it!

Thanks!

Yes, I think you're going to have to this with topics (assign user/group permissions on by topic). Unlike wiki pages, I don't think you can assign permissions to a specific article.

Hmm...I created new test topics as well as test student groups, but as far as I can see now I can only assign Read rights to the topics...I'm trying to fix it so that all students can read all articles in said groups, but only one group can actually edit an article in a group. 😕

If these are pages that you want folks to continually edit, you might consider using wiki pages instead of articles. You can fine-grain the page permissions on a user-by-user and/or page-by-page basis.

Or look at using categories to control your page permissions for specific groups.
