Unwanted line feeds around wiki plugins

I have used several plugins, for example split, box, div and code, and I find that they all add an unwanted line feed after the closing tag.

If it is followed by plain text, then I just have to put the text immediately after the closing tag. I can live with that. If it is followed by a header, then this has to go on a new line.

This is particularly irritating if I want to put a heading next to a floating box, for example

Copy to clipboard
{BOX(float=>right, align=>left, width=>30%, title="See also", id=>seealsobox)}Some links...{BOX} !!Heading

because the heading gets pushed down one line

See also
Some links...

Heading

This may seem like nitpicking, but with my design I find it irritating (actually inacceptable). Is there any trick to avoid this extra line.

Thanks in advance
Phil

I think this may also be due to the fact that Tiki interprets the carriage return (in your wiki code) after the closing {BOX}, {DIV}, or whatever as a line break. In fact any carriage return in wiki syntax is interpreted thusly.

In 1.10 there a Use Wiki paragraph formatting option was added, but I'm unsure exactly what that does.

There's nothing in the plugin code itself to create an extra linefeed, no break tag, etc. As this pair of boxes shows, they are happy to stay side by side if the wiki syntax for them is also continuous with no line breaks between the plugins.

What causes the problem for headings is that the !! tags have to be flush left to work, which necessitates a preceding line break. You might try using the TAG plugin to make headings instead. This can immediately follow the div or box plugin with no line break in between. I haven't tested how TAG-created headings work with the toc syntax, etc. though, if that's important.

Code for heading at left is on a new line after box plugin.

There's no line break in the wiki source between the end of this box and the heading to the left.

Thanks Gary,

using the TAG plugin fixes my problem.
