Questions re: file galleries
I have been testing TikiWiki to see if it would work for a project my boss wants to launch. We are most interested in the File Galleries feature, but i can't get it to work at all. I set up a directory (folder) on the server for the files as per the instructions in the documentation (such as they are - not very clear), but when i try to upload, i get 2 error messages:
"Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/statpnet/public_html/tikiwiki/tiki-upload_file.php on line 189"
"Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/statpnet/public_html/tikiwiki/tiki-upload_file.php on line 198"
I know nothing at all about PHP so if there's something i'm supposed to change on the tiki-upload_file.php in lines 189 and 198, i have no clue what that would be. Also, at the bottom of the upload screen, i get this message:
Cannot write to this file:/statecorp.net/research/246f95892d6ce986dff0c86d4cd3e198
(for the record, the file was not called 246f95.... it was a Word document called "question period.doc")
Again - have no clue what that means. Can someone explain very clearly what would need to be edited in the PHP file so that this might work? Also, the "instructions" re: setting up the directory simply says "You must configure properly a directory to store files" but doesn't explain how to configure properly said directory, so i'm not sure if i've done that or not. Also, i am really interested in the file indexing by the tikisearch, but again, have absolutely no clue what this means from the documentation:
"If you want the files content of your files galleries to be accessible by a TikiWiki search, and if you have a script that extracts the file content into a text, you can associate the script to the Mime type and the files content will be indexed."
Can someone explain in simple English please? I find a lot of the documentation seems to assume people know PHP. Much more simplified instructions, step by step for total noobs would be greatly appreciated.
