I started out using the FCKEditor and had to abandon it because of all the problems I had. It is clearly marked as "experimental" and indeed it seems to have a lot of bugs in it.
I agree that having a WYSWIG editor especially for those who used to Google Docs or Word or the like (call them the masses if you wish) is important to gain user acceptance.
A word of warning ... if you decide to switch back to the standard editor, you may see some documents that need a lot of work to be edited in the standard editor. When I went back and opened documents that were created in the WYSWIG editor with the Wiki Editor, they were a mash of HTML! Not a pretty site if your document is long and complex!
