Blogs - is there a way to create certain blogs for certain members Posted by dmb2002man 07 May 2009 19:15 UTC Is there a way to make blogs where only certain people can see. I want like 1 blog for a few members and a different blog for other members. Josh
Posted by Gary Cunningham-Lee 08 May 2009 08:46 UTC Yes, you need to make a user group for each of the groups of members and then, when you make the blogs, give the groups permission to see (and/or post at or whatever) the particular blog. See doc.tikiwiki.org for details. -- Gary
Posted by dmb2002man 08 May 2009 12:06 UTC Okay i have created a second group called registers 1 and assigned a current user to that group and then added to read blogs and calendar and they can still see the original blogs and calendar. I am not sure how to assign them to a second blog anywhere. Like i go and check this and its all of them. tiki_p_read_blog blogs Can read blogs
Posted by dmb2002man 08 May 2009 15:26 UTC So i created two new groups called Register 1 and Register 2. I did remove them both from the default Register group. I then when and created two new accounts and added them to the Register 1 group for testing. So i then went into permissions and gave them access to read blogs. Now when in with the account, they can still see all the blogs as it must have to be something with the read blogs permission. I need to have multiple read blogs that go to different blogs i think. Please help me out with this. I am reading the documentation but still confused on how each user will read from different blogs. Josh
Posted by dmb2002man 08 May 2009 19:39 UTC Ok i got it working everyone. Since all the new members that register, will be in the group called register. I created register 1, 2, 3 and also made each group a member of the register group as it doesn't have no permission anyways. I then went and created 9 blogs and gave register 1 to the first 3 blogs, 2 to the 4-6 blogs and 3 to the 7-9 blogs. Now when a new user registers, i will have to add them to whichever group to see the blogs i want them to. There is no way to automate this. In the meantime, i am going to create register 4-10 so i will have enough for a lot of future blogs.
