Horizontal menu? Posted by janosch 21 Nov 2003 21:17 GMT-0000 posts: 5 Hi, this is just a cosmetic thing, but, is it possible to have a horizontal drop-down menu? Or will I have to do this myself? Thanks.

I would like to pose the same question though 😀 I have downloaded tikiwiki and checked out most of the features - I am a big fan for whats being done here. The module setup for administrators is very flexible but if it could be extended to provide drop down menus/modules(?) from a horizontal bar it would be easier to direct users to areas in a web site - and free up screen real estate. A horizonal menu is so widely used I am surprised its not been done already - perhaps there is a technical reason for its absence? On a related note, the :: is rather obscure...! Thanks in advance.

By changing the theme for the pages you can get rid of the :: and get the + and - instead. You might also be able to edit the template and change the : : for the +/- if you want to keep using the moreneat.css. It's a nice clean theme and worth keeping. Other nice looking themes are the jalist.css, jalist2.css, tceti.css, and the new *metal.css family. I would also like to see a "brighter" version of the *metal.css family, like in silver or something. All of the existing ones are just a bit dark, but not horribly so. You can try the themes out by changing them in the Style box at the bottom of the right-hand column. The pages will all be instantly changed to the new theme as you select it.

We have 95% integration with it, the 1 think missing is the horizontal support, but its something I would certainly work on. Mose has done the phpLayers integration, so maybe you can drop him a Tiki Message and find out its current horizontal status Damian
