Forum Layout

I apologise if this is mentioned some place else. I haven't been able to find anything after searching for most of the past two days.

Is there any way to change the layout of the forum? Has anybody developed any thing regarding this yes? I feel that the forum layout is too compressed. It makes me feel claustrophobic.

If width is the problem, you could turn off one of the side columns (or both even, if you have site navigation at the page top) using the Look and Feel option for layout display according to section.

If that won't help, and you want to change how posts are displayed, this could be modified using CSS to some extent. The basic position of the page parts are set in the Smarty template (.tpl) files, and then the stylesheets (layout.css and design.css plus the theme stylesheet that imports those) control the details.

For Tiki 6, the blog page layout was made more flexible for designers (see http://themes.tiki.org/Blog layoutQuestion), and this could be done for the forum page, too, but I haven't seen any requests along those lines.
