Update: Forums list refuses to show latest entries; comments to opening posts are not accesible.
We've meanwhile removed all the object permissions for every single forum and have reset them.
Also, we've cleared caches, removed freetags from every forum posting, and removed unused freetags.
However, the issue remains.
