Can Tiki maintain user prerequisites?

Hi again all,

It’s hard to put this question concisely into a title, so I'll explain it a bit here.

I’m developing a Tiki site to front-end a series of online training courses. The general idea is that a user must complete the first module of a course before proceeding to the second module, and so on. This is what I mean by prerequisites.

So one part of the design is to track whether a user has completed a module, i.e. visited a wiki page and completed some activity there. I looked into trackers, but I’m not sure trackers can do this without requiring a user to fill in a form. I’d prefer to track user activity without involving the user.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

JK

Not sure, but maybe to an extent this might be possible with "user levels" ... you should look into that.

You can do this pretty easily with trackers... Include a simple checkbox at the bottom of the page that a user much enable, in order to verify that they've read the information on the page.

If you're using some external tool for your training modules (have you looked at Tiki's Quiz and Survey features?), you could have that application update the tracker info, directly in your database.
