INSTALL failed - tw is not for dummies, only gods

FIRST:
I saw tw and I loved it. The combination of Wiki, Blog,... is very hot. In the last three weeks I observe the community and try to understand the features from a user point of view. And important: I am not a dev.

But I installed serveral versions local on my XP box. And tw works nice (if you are a webmaster).

Now today I was brave enough and tried to install the new 1.8 on the server of my provider (linux, safe_mode_on, only FTP access). First I delete my 2.0.5 XOOPS installation who was more than one year my web cms.

But I failed 100%. Now I understand that tw is not for dummies like me. To edit a lot of files (within the amount of >= 3.500) manualy and to understand the complex things behind php,mysql,... is not the way for me.

Maybe I will try it soon after I will attend a programmers course. In the meantime I am searching for a Open Source CMS for dummies.

It's a pity. I am pleased to work with tw and setup a new interesting site.

thx for the very good support (esp. Damian, Chealer9, bobzim).

OJE OJE

This was a very short course.

It can't be helped. I must solve the problem. I WANT (YES) install tw on the server of my provider.

I will publish a step-by-step log of my installation process.

Dear community please help.

It run's. Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thx to damian and sr! great help!

You can read the diary of the installation on InstallTroublespaulap01.

Please post your experience on this page too. Will be helpful for a lot of tw installers who only had ftp access and safe_mode=on.
