Upgrade Wizard in 14.0 question.

I'm new to Tiki - running it on XAMPP on a Mac with 10.10.5 using Tiki v14.0.

In my admin panel it says that I need to upgrade to 14.2. So I click on Wizards and then "Start Upgrade Wizard"

After I go through the options and go through the last page - I'm still left at 14.0.

I'm sure I am missing something - any thoughts? (I did try out the doc.tiki site but it won't load for me this morning.)

Thanks
Pete

Hello Pete,

welcome in the Tiki community.

The name "Upgrade Wizard" might be confusing. It is not a wizard to guide you through the process of upgrading a Tiki website itself, but it rather aims to help you going through the new configuration options after an upgrade.

At most major releases Tiki get's a bunch of new features or options which haven't been included in Tiki in prior versions. So if you have a well running Tiki 10 or 11 and you have upgraded to Tiki 14, you likely do not want to go through the whole "Start Configuration Wizard", but you maybe want to go through the subset of newly added options.

If you upgrade from 10 or 11, you might be interested in the elFinder user interface for file galleries and thus in the "Ugrade Wizard" section "New in Tiki12" subsection "User Interface" you find the option to activate elFinder.

If you ugrade from 12 or from 13, you already have the elFinder and might already have desided wether to activate or not, but you want to see the newly added options which came to Tiki in version 14. So you straight away click on the link to section "New in Tiki14" and there you see for example the then added preference to deside which iconset you want to choose only using a dropdown instead of altering code in a theme.

The options in the "Upgrade Wizard" do not necessarily represent the complete set of changes and enhancements, but a subset considered by active community members as very common or very important changes. At the end of each Tiki versions section you find a link to a complete list of changes for that Tiki version.

I hope I could help you.
If you have questions to a reasonable upgrade process, feel free to come back and ask further.

Best regards,
Torsten

Thank you for the reply!

I wouldn't have guessed that was what the Upgrade Wizard was for but now that I know I will go back and re-read it to see what I missed. (I'm a complete newbie here so it would be easy for me to miss something easy!)

I'll go and have at an update process. Off to the docs.tiki!!
