Why can't I post in the Shoutbox?

Just wondering if this is an anti-nastiness measure or what. I'm a registered user of this site, and I see others' posts, but I can't post, although I used to be able to. Is there now a level of user at tikiwiki.org that allows Shoutbox posting, beyond just being registered here?

Yes...I'm not sure it makes much sense to keep shoutbox with those anti-nastiness restrictions ❓

It certainly is irritating to see the same comments in Shoutbox day after day, particularly as it looks like a few ))TikiDevsusingTikiDevTalk((. I thought that as an Anonymous User, and I'm sure visitors are not impressed either.

I think Shoutbox should vanish from public view until it is useful. Or make it a ))DevShout(( which only Devs can see.

Perhaps a ))NewsShout(( box would be more useful, if it has little announcements intended for everyone.

The required level to get to the shoutbox is the developers group.

Unfortunately a small number spoil it for others.

The best answer is to remove the shoutbox. Forums are much better for support anyway!

I will make it only visible to developers group.

depends on what your site is intended for. Shoutbox is useful to me as my group uses it for an information ticker. in Tikiwiki 2.2 my registered users can post comments however I have trouble with the antibot verification. Often TW thinks that the users have mistyped the verification code even if they do not.
