    Files in the file gallery can be assigned categories with associated permissions. I find that assigning categories to files in the file gallery has no effect. Has anyone had success with this feature?

    Rob, what effect is missing? Do you mean when you assign a file to a category, that the perms do not carry over?

    Yes, the perms do not carry over. Very disappointing.

    Hello Rob,

    This option not only should work, but this is used often by a lot of people and I wonder why there is no more reports. Version 16.1 is out dated, I strongly suggest you to update to Tiki18 our last LTS.

    If you have the same issue, I suggest you go at : http://dev.tiki.org/Make-a-wishQuestion create a ticket and a instance (to test on a clean version) and report your issue with as much as details as possible.

    Well, we tried upgrading to 17.2 and it kept forgetting our passwords.

    It won't help you if I said I used several 17.x and I didn't see the both issues you have . 😐
    We are working hard to have a shiny 18.1 soon. 😊
