    Hi

    I'm having a problem logging into my Tikiwiki (v1.8 running on Linux with Apache).

    I used the "Web Server" user registration authentication method and logged in on my web server, which then automatically logged me into TikiWiki (as expected). The problem is that the user I'm logging in as on the web server does not have any permissions to login into TikiWiki and I get a "Permission denied you cannot view this page" notice on the homepage.

    How can I log into TikiWiki as an Admin user (bypassing the web server authentication and using tikiwiki authentication since the admin user does exist in Tikiwiki), or how can I reset the Authentication Method to "Just "Tiki" and not "Web Server" (by modifying the db?)?

    Your help would be much appreciated...

    Hiya,

    Just into the database and scan through the tiki_preferences. YOu'll need to adjust some the values in that table. From the top of my head I cant remember which, but they should be "english" enough

    Thanks for the fast reply Damian!
    I managed to convince the system admin to create another user on the web server (with the same name as the tikiwiki admin user) and logging in as this user allows me to gain access as an administrator and change the authentication method - problem solved 😉
