    1.7 seemed to default "allow HTML" in tiki-editpage.php to checked. In 1.7.1.1 it seems to be unchecked. Is there a configuration setting to get it to default to checked?

    I don't think so. The default might have been changed deliberately in the code because of user requests. I surely was one who asked before whether it was possibly to have it unchecked by default so maybe one of the developers picked up on it.
