Tiki 1.9 work with MySQL 4.0.x?

I found this on the installation page. This also implies that Tiki 1.9 does not work at all with MySQL 4.0.x?

"MySQL 4.1+ works with TikiWiki 1.9 onwards due to a ADODB upgrade."

My understanding is that MySQL 4.1 is not officially support (Damian post). Does this seem odd?

Are new features / bug fixes also ported to Tiki 1.8 as well?

Many thanks,

Chris

- Seems we have a couple of testers in for mysql4
http://tikiwiki.org/tiki-index.php?page=TikiTesters
- 1.8 is supposed to be features freeze
- Sometimes bugs are fixed in 1.8, sometimes in 1.9. It depends who finds and fixes it. Bug fixes are not necessary backported. there is no real rule

MySQL 4.1 is Gamma release (use this for new development) that to me says not stable.

You can download and copy the files for adodb into lib/adodb and make some local changes to get it to work. If you want them, I will email them to you. But I wouldnt trust 4.1 just yet.

OK, I installed Tiki 1.9; it works fine with MySQL 4.0.x

The statement:
"MySQL 4.1+ works with TikiWiki 1.9 onwards due to a ADODB upgrade."

This means that if you use MySQL 4.1+, you will need to use TikiWiki 1.9 or greater. Tiki 1.9 is backwards compatible with MySQL 4.0.x.

Currently, not all of the SQL has been rewritten in Tiki 1.9 for MySQL 4.1+, so you may see some things not working correctly (as per Damian).
