any way to get wiki links to open in new window?

I can't find documentation on this - is there a way to get links to other pages on the wiki to open in a new browser window?

Thanks, Melissa

You could try to turn on "Open external links in new window:" in the General Settings section under General Preferences in the Admin menu.

That's already selected, but there was a complaint that they're not opening in a new window. I can't recreate that problem, but I thought if there was something else I could do besides adding HTML code for the links to open in a new window, that'd be a quick fix.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Hi, sorry I have answered with a smile the first time, but in fact it was only a semi-joke.

If we are talking about wiki links - and not external links - at the moment they must all have the same behaviour.

Still, I understand what you mean. I am presently working with people who want to comment legal texts. It would be nice if, when clicking on Article 1-33, a smaller pop-up window could open, with the text of the Article. Other example, a site on zoology, and when you click on the name of an animal, a smaller pop-up windiw appears, with the file for that species.

We could imagine it becomes a new feature, called a reference popup. A popup creation would be justified everytime there is a need for the user to consult a file, without stopping to read the main text.

In such a feature, there would be the possibility for Admin to define a form template, i. e. for an animal species: name, weight, location, reproduction, color, size........ and creating a popup reference would be like creating a database entry.

That would be a wonderful feature! The plugin mentioned before is more what I was looking for right now, but I wish I could open wiki links in new windows also. Too bad I'm not a programmer who can write the code for that. 😑
