limit chars in forum posts?

Is there a way to limit the chars entered in a forum post (I don't mind if a fix affects all comments either, but I really want it in the forums if possible)?

1200 chars should be enough for our purposes, but we've had some LONG posts that cause tikiwiki to allocate excess memory beyond what php is config for and I don't want to throw more mem at the problem (the host won't anyhow). I want to limit size of posts to save space anyways.

I see where you can specify max size for uploading attached files, but no setting to limit max size for the text fields. Can I change this in comment lib maybe? Also, where can I suggest this for a future tiki feature because I think it is good to let people set how much space people get to ramble razz

Hi kelly,

Feature requests can be made on the SourceForge project page under the RFE's option. http://sourceforge.net/projects/tikiwiki click RFE option

If the host is running on 8Mb, then the TikiWiki will never run successfully. Once you have a populated database its only a matter of weeks before reading from the DB will cause you to go over the 8Mb limit. art82
