how to include Module in header Posted by sooeydoo 21 Mar 2005 00:27 UTC Hi, I want to include the search module in the header of the page. I know there is a PluginModule to include modules in wiki pages, but it doesn't work when included that way in the header - it gives a Smarty error. Is there anyway to do this?
Posted by Gary Cunningham-Lee 22 Mar 2005 03:02 UTC The sQuare theme has a search module in the top_bar, if you want to look at the files. Here's the URL for the project page: http://mods.tikiwiki.org/tiki-project.php?projectId=7. -- Gary
Posted by sooeydoo 22 Mar 2005 08:50 UTC Thanks Gary - the theme is great! But I think it will need some tweaking - like changing the FCA at the top and all that. Also, is it made for a fixed screen width? the top search bar on my page seems to have a fixed width which introduces a horizontal scroll bar in the page. I could do without the horizontal scrolling. Could you tell me how to change this particular thing? thanks, sooraj.

Thanks to sQuare himself, though I haven't seen him posting for quite a while. > But I think it will need some tweaking - like changing the FCA at the top and all that. Right. It's supposed to be customized for new sites. > Also, is it made for a fixed screen width? the top search bar on my page seems to have a fixed width which introduces a horizontal scroll bar in the page. No, the page width isn't fixed, but the user-preferences links don't seem to wrap, so the page is always at least as wide as those links, at least in my testing. (If you reduce your browser window width, you can see the whole page reflowing to conform except that line of links.) How you want to fix things sort of depends on what information you want in the topbar. The easiest fix is to delete the user-pref links (delete the first cell in the second row of the topbar table (the one that contains top_bar/top_log.tpl, at around line 114 of templates/styles/sQuare/top_bar/top_bar.tpl). This will eliminate that row of links. If having these links is important, then some other fix is needed, like putting the search form either above or below them. -- Gary
Posted by sooeydoo 01 Apr 2005 18:01 UTC Hey Gary, thanks for that...I've tweaked the header somewhat to fit my needs for now at least😉 Could you please let me know when you have updated the sQuare theme for 1.85 please? I think, the login is not working in the sense that it gives gibberish when you login, but pressing the back button will take you to the tiki with logged in status. Thanks in advance, Sooraj.
