does intertiki work?

is intertiki stable and secure?
didn't find ANY info about it in the docs. just some development stuff, but nothing that tells me concrete things.
is there some plage with a "how to"?
what do i need to do to conect 2 tiki databases using intertiki?
and when it is working, what is possible/impossible to do with it?
are users that register at one tiki also registered in the other? both ways?

please everyone who knows something abou it write it down here.
if i get some goot info i'll try to fix the InterTiki page.

thanks allot

It works but may not be bug free. It's used to transfer user info between this site and several "slave" sites, but there have been glitches, especially involving edu.tw.o. I'm not sure what the current status is on that.

The databases aren't connected directly. The relationship is set up by inputting the master-site info on the slave site, and then user logins get sent to the master site for authentication, or something like that. I just described how the themes.tw.o site Intertiki config is set up in another forum post within the last week or so. Maybe you can find it or if I do I'll edit this post with the URL.

If you are registered at the master site, you don't need to register at the slave site; you can just log in. User preferences and group information is transferred. As far as I know, that's the limit of what it does. Things like user activity figures are independent on each site.

Yes

> both ways?

Only one way: people should register only at the master site. On-line registration at the slave site should be turned off.

Maybe only the Tiki support sites are using Intertiki so far. Anyway, as with many new features, the documentation trails behind.

If I recall correctly, I posted some InterTiki configuration details in a reply when you asked about this earlier. Did you try to use equivalent information with your Tikis, and if so what happened? I don't really know all the reasons for the configuration, but I have a working example I can look at and describe. This is what I did in the earlier reply.

ok...
so now i am creating 3 different tiki pages and i want every user that is registred in one of them to be automaticaly registeren on all 3 pages.
so using intertiki i would have to let every user register at a "main" page?
no other solution?
