Calendar only does 24hr time

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the calendar so you can enter an event in 12hr AM/PM rather than 24 hr time (It's not in 1.9.6)?

I've changed the strftime in General to either %r or %I %M and it makes time 12 hr everywhere -except in Calendar events.

I asked the same question a while ago. I still haven't figured it out for the the pop-up, but you can force a 12-hour time selector by using |use_24_hours=true on the selector field for adding/editing a calendar event.

Ricks,

I just updated Tikiwiki to 1.9.6 and I do not see any choice for "|use_24_hours=true" either in the add (or edit) item screen or in the calendar setup in admin. Where is that setting? Also it seems wierd that to get 12hr time you'd set 24 to true. Anyway, you've done it and it works so...

I also can't help but figure that despite the strftime we both set (and that seems to work fine everywhere else) it cannot be the only time setting. Somewhere Tiki has to have some code the pop-ups reference for time formatting. They do appear to completely ignore the global strftime setting in Admin/General.

I wonder if any tiki savvy developers out there -maybe the folks who worked on the calendar- might parse the code and let us know a tweak?

I volunteer to be a guinea pig.

I also monkey'ed with the java script ("jscalendar") pop up and it also seems to do only 24hr time so I turned it off again. In the past, I've found it difficult to adjust time on.

Part of the issue is the display of the time and part is the setting. I want my users to post events but the 24hr thing is enough of an issue that they won't use it.

The time is displayed in different places and different ways.
View:
In list mode (AM/PM)
Rollover pop up (24hr)
Calendar mode + link (AM/PM)
Magnifying glass link off the pop up (AM/PM)

Add/Edit:
js calendar (24hr)
drop down menu selection of day, month, year, hours, min (24hr)
"manual selection of time/date" (24hr) even when entered as 12/14/2006 06:00PM. If you go back to edit it though it erases the manual entry and reverts to drop downs.

I love the pop up events and the view choices but it is just this far from being a usable calendar for those of us still on AM PM time.

My wish list:
-12 hr AM PM of course.
-Ability to add text to the calendar page (such as "Note: the calendar only works on 24 hr time when adding an event")
-Ability to export the list or calendar view as HTML so I can include it include in e-mail newsletters and drive people to the site with the links. I don't expect that one though.

There's no setting. You need to edit the tiki-calendar and tiki-calendar_add_event templates.
