Internal linking without external link syntax

Can you link to non-wiki internal features without an "external link"? For instance... in a wiki article, is view the forums the only proper way?

I may be missing something simple, but I can't find anything describing this in any of the documentation.

Nope, AFAIK using [tiki-forums.php|view the forums] this only way.

The external link icon can be turned off. Of course actual external links would lose it also.

If you really want to use wiki linking syntax for non-wiki links, you could use a set of Redirect pages. For example:

  1. Create a wiki page named Forum.
  2. Make the page redirect to your forums: {REDIRECT(url=tiki-forums.php)/}
  3. Now you can link to the forums by using regular, internal, wiki links:
    ((Forum|view the forum))
