2.2 install problem

posts: 1

hello everybody

I just tried to install and tikiwiki gave me a installation successful.

When I want to the main page there is just an errormessage:

http://www.peridia.de/tikiwiki/tikiwiki-2.2/tiki-index.php

Fatal error: require_once() function.require: Failed opening required 'setup_smarty.php' (include_path='lib/pear:lib/adodb:lib/pear:lib:/mnt/web2/23/61/51230361/htdocs/tikiwiki/tikiwiki-2.2/:.:/opt/RZphp5/includes') in /mnt/web2/23/61/51230361/htdocs/tikiwiki/tikiwiki-2.2/tiki-setup_base.php on line 44

Please help.

Thanks in advance

do you have fOpen enabled on your webserver?

I have had the same problem just installing 2.2 for the first time.

The error message is:

Warning: include_once(lib/setup/twversion.class.php) function.include-once: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/subdir/tiki/tiki-setup.php on line 18

Warning: include_once() function.include: Failed opening 'lib/setup/twversion.class.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/www/subdir/tiki/tiki-setup.php on line 18

Fatal error: Class 'TWVersion' not found in /home/www/subdir/tiki/tiki-setup.php on line 19

Given the question above "do you have fOpen enabled on your webserver?"

phpinfo() on the host (php5.2) says
allow_url_fopen On
allow_url_include Off

if that is relevant.

Any help welcomed

Just to answer my own problem here,

After research I found that between the unzipping of the install file and FTP via FileZilla to the server, the directory structure was not correctly copied and so many files were missing or not in the right place. Done a fresh install and it looks better.

It is a pity the Tiki documentation is such a mess, it's so hard to find where to get advice on problems like this.

Lansdowne, welcome to TikiWiki Community, and you are very welcome to improve the Documentation to make it less messy that it may be right now

(I can tell you for sure that right now it's much less messy than two years ago ;-). So, step by step, things geet better, with the help from all of us...

Cheers
