tracker edit item delete( remove - the red X) permissions bug?

Hi. Our Registered users group can not see a red X when viewing a listing of items in a tracker. That's what we want, don't let basic users delete the records.

BUT... If they select a tracker item to view the details of the record, then select "edit/delete" from the top-ish menu, they get to a page where the red X is present and they indeed can accomplish the delete.

Is this a bug, or rather have I must messed up permissions somehow?

Perhaps the code to look at is tiki-view_tracker_item? I hope some smart developer reads this and responds. Thanks very much!!! -H

Have I posted this to the wrong forum section?

I have scoured group permissions, and I will continue to do so. But I can't seem to disable tracker edit/delete permission from Registered users. I want Registered to be able to create a tracker item (not a full tracker itself), but not be able to edit/delete any existing items.

I'm sure there must be a way, but dang if I can find it! Please help the poor idiot (me)! TIA -H

And the answer is... The permission to modify tracker items! It was right there all along, I just needed to find it!

I ended up taking "modify tracker items" away from "registered", then created a new group called "tracker editors" which has only the one permission of "modify tracker items" assigned to it.

Then for the few users I want to be able to edit/delete tracker items, I simply add that group to their user profile.
