Deep copying structures

Sorry, I am new here and try to find an answer to my question in what is already written but don't.

Is there a way in the Tiki Wiki to 1) deep copy an entire structure and 2) when it comes to links within that structure have them updated in the copy such that they refer to the copy (just like ordinary relative HTML links would work)?

I am looking at the possibility to use Tiki Wiki as a multi purpose platform in my organisation, including product documentation. When it comes to product documentation, there is a need for this structure deep copying when we upgrade the product from say Version X to Version Y and wish to use the Version X documentation as a basis for the Version Y documentation. I am thankful for constructive feedback, since to me this is a must have for us. Copying the structure layout and individual documents one by one is not an alternative

Have you considered using the VERSION or TAB plugins to display multiple releases/versions? This has the advantages of:

  • Not having to duplicate the structure
  • Not having to duplicate any content
  • Not having to change bookmarks/URLs

The Tiki documentationQuestion and SmartiesQuestion both use this strategy.
