Beginner questions

Hi,

I'm new to Tiki-Wiki and have a couple of questions. 😊

- Is there a way to toggle the "highlighter" permanently? Seems like it doesn't work properly in Chrome, toggling it manually does the trick perfectly, but turning it off permanently would seem best to me.

- Is there a way to use questionmarks in titles? There MUST be. 😊

- Also, I'm setting up multi-language site. The small globe is a little to subtile for my purposes - is there a way to make the language option more visible, e.g. with bigger flag icons, or at least with a dropdown that actually shows the current language?

Many thanks in advance!

PS: I'm using Version 9.4.

Hi Teak,
re: multi-language, you can add the switch_langQuestion ModuleQuestion which, depending on your theme, can be very visible. You can choose (in Display mode) whether it shows words, flags or a a drop down list.

Works great, thank you!

Any idea about the question marks in titles and/or toggling the highlighter?

To include a ? in a page name, you need to disable the Prevent special characters in page names option. Note, however, that this may cause other issues down the road, since the ? would need to be encoded to be valid within the URL. See the docsQuestion for details.

I believe the ability to toggle the code highligher while editing is being introduced in Tiki 12 (IIRC).

Thanks for the reply. What I don't understand is why they seems to think that every single character in the title MUST be in the URL as well. Wordpress for example simply strips special characters for the URL, and that works just fine.

quoteBy default, the wiki page name is the URL./quote
Brawndo! It's got electrolytes! It's what plants crave!

Pardon me, but is there a way to change this default behavior? 😊
