Tiki for an Intranet

Howdi Tikians! dumb question alert 😡

I have the wonderful Tiki on two machines - one a tower one a laptop both localhost, tower Win2k laptop WinXP both with easyphp, both running fine. I have set a VERY basic TCP/IP network using Network cards and a bit of ethernet cable

QUESTION:
How do I set things up so I can log into Tiki from the laptop? localhost is just for the local machine and the file sharing just shares files... please dont use rude words like routers or DNS if possible🙄

I have a client for whom Tiki would be an ideal Intranet app - I would love to hear from anyone about experiences in setting Tiki to run in this way particularly with Windows and easyphp or sokkit and any information on load performance would be very useful.

Hi there,

If I remember correctly you can just use the normal computer names from windows file sharing.

so if the laptop was called johnslaptop try http://johnslaptop, etc. You can find the computer name from the Networking area in Control Panel.
