    Is there any way to have elfinder as a plugin, rather than a file list?
    I've got some circumstances where the file list gets pretty unwieldy, but elfinder would work well (especially if it could be limited to only the given gallery (+ optionally subgals)

    That's a good question and sadly i think the answer is no - it would make sense to add it to the {files} plugin i think... but not a trivial job i think, maybe add this as a feature request?
