create new forum Posted by jluong 26 May 2004 22:23 UTC Hi, I just installed Tikiwiki 1.7.7 on a Solaris 8 box. All went well. I logged in as admin and clicked on ::forum but I don't see anywhere where I can create a new forum. Please help! -Joe

Posted by jluong 27 May 2004 01:44 UTC Now I created a new forum, how do I make it available to my users. I already assigned tiki_p_forum_attach, post, post_topic, read, vote to the group, registered but the forum I created is still not showed up for users. Thank you for your help.
Posted by Philippe Cloutier 27 May 2004 03:55 UTC Are you saying your users don't see the forum in tiki-forums.php? Can they access it directly? Which users should suffer from this problem?
Posted by jluong 27 May 2004 16:42 UTC When any of registered users click on the the :: forum link on the left, they only see "Permission denied you cannot view this section" message. The page accessed is http://server_name/tiki/tiki-forums.php

The page accessed is > http://server_name/tiki/tiki-forums.php Sounds to me like you need to visit your Admin->Groups options and assign Anonymous users/group some view permissions to the forums. Posted by malaiselvan 14 Jul 2008 15:46 UTC Hi, Same problem exists for me. Have you solved this issue? How you solved? I created a forum and gave all the following permission (tiki_p_forum_post,tiki_p_forum_post_topic,tiki_p_forum_read,tiki_p_admin_forum) for the registered group. But the forum is not visible for the registered members. Kindly advice. What I am missing?
