internal / external path mixed up

Hi,
my tiki is installed in something like
/var/www/myuser/mydomain.net/
and http://mydomain.netQuestion points to the above directory, so that
http://mydomain.net/tiki-index.phpQuestion works fine...

But:
The delete-user-confirmation-link leads to:
http://mydomain.net/myuser/mydomain.net/tiki-adminusers.php?offsetQuestion...
which of course doesn't exist.

Additional Info:
- I have set mydomain.net as "Server name (for absolute URIs):" in Admin / Gerneral
- apache runs chrooted in /var/www/ so that /myuser/mydomain.net/ is the correct INTERNAL path to the tiki-directory which is falsely appended to the EXTERNAL http://-pathQuestion
- Tiki-Version is 1.8.4
- I think I had seen this with a 1.8.3 on a diffenent server also...

Any Ideas?
Is this a hosting problem, tiki-configuration issue, or a bug?

Oops, now I can't even log in anymore.

Status Yesterday:
I was using www.mydomain.netQuestion first and realized, that I get the error message: "You have to enable cookies to be able to login to this site" when I tried to login from mydomain.net without www.

What I did:
I thought Ok, if tiki can't deal with the domain alias www., I'll only use the full www.mydomain.netQuestion . So I changed the server-name-setting in Admin / General from mydomain.net to www.mydomain.netQuestion

Status Today:
I can't login from either with or without www.
I always get "You have to enable cookies ...".
Of course Cookies are fully enabled. I also tried Mozilla, I also deleted any previous cookies, so to start "from zero".
Nothing worked.

Any Ideas?

What do you mean by delete-user-confirmation-link ?
Where do you get this link?

When I am admin, and want to delete a user, I get this button saying sth like "Click here to confirm your action".
When I click it, my Browser (Opera) gets pointed to this mixed-up path.

The code says that the link is $_SERVER'REQUEST_URI'

Can you check REQUEST_URI in admin/phpinfo?
thx

Did you ever solve this problem? I see the same problem when I access my test wiki from Firefox. Oddly, Konqueror seems to work OK.

To clarify: if I access http://server2/mywikiQuestion using Konqueror, everything is fine. If I use the FQDN (http://server2.mydomain.com/mywikiQuestion), I get the cookie error.

Trying to access either address with Firefox gives the cookie error.

I suspect that there must be a problem with the way certain browsers are handling cookies for wikis that are set up without the FQDN.

I have the impression tiki is doing a lot of assumptions.
In the login process, it doesn't check only if cookies is enabled but also if the session cookie is set, and if the session cookie name is PHPSESSID

Can you check in the panel admin / php info
that
1) Session Support enabled
2) session.name = PHPSESSID
3) session.use_cookies on

These values can be changed... and tiki wouldn't like the change

I have no idea if it is important but the values of session.cookie_path, session.cookie_domain, session.use_only_cookies

Thanks for giving more information
sylvie

I solved this problem, by making sure that the FQDN was specified in my apache config file, and by adding the "UseCanonicalName" directive, like this:

"ServerName server2.domain.avtechpulse.com"

and

"UseCanonicalName On"
