Tiki cannot find a database connection

I've seen this issue raised in other places on the site, but not for a Win2k installation. The tiki-install.php page gives me the error: "Tiki cannot find a database connection" even though I can connected to the database fine from both the command line, MySqlCC and other php scripts.

TikiWiki 1.8.5
Win2K
OmniHttpd Server
Php 4
MySQL 4.1

If MySQL is not supported, why is it listed as a db option in the drop-down box in tiki-install.php (Tiki 1.8.5)?

Hi Richard,

Here's what I did, and it worked for me right away!

After you do your
mysql> create database tiki;
and
mysql> grant SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, DROP, INDEX, ALTER on tiki.* to tikiuser@localhost identified by 'password';

do this command:
SET PASSWORD FOR 'tikiuser'@'localhost' = OLD_PASSWORD('password');

This allows Tiki to use MySQL 3.x style authentication against a 4.1 database. Then it all just worked! Hope this helps.
