Wiki Links Question

I'm new to wikis, and it looks like I don't understand something really basic about wiki page links. I read the documentation on the linking procedureusing double parentheses but when I do that, the link shows only as a question mark at the end of the file name (even though the page is correctly typed and it exists), and the link itself takes me to a version of the page that I am supposed to edit, not view. But I want the whole filename to be highlighted as in an html page, and I want the link just to bring up the page, not make me edit it. What am I doing wrong here, or what settings haven't I dealt with properly? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You should be seeing little curved arrow w/ the tooltip 'refresh'. Click on it to reload the page. Also try ctrl+F5.

Hello,

Thanks, but that doesn't seem to be it — I refreshed the page, and the ? still appears after my (()) link; the tooltip info for the file location is

.../tiki-editpage.php?page=Course_Syllabus

The page title is correct, but links just don't appear as they should. Any ideas about what else I might check? Thanks.

Do you have underscores in wiki words enabled (in Admin->Wiki settings)?

Thanks for the replyyes, I have that feature enableduse wiki words, and allow underscores. I can't figure this out, even though it seems simple enough. Is there anything else I can check? Al

Surewhat I figured out was that to make these links work properly, it seems that you have to create your pages from within the wikias when you type (()) notation in your HomePage or use the smash-together method of combined words like "CourseSyllabus." If the page to which you are trying to link doesn't already show up in the wiki "list pages" section in your application menu, you will get only a "?" that takes you to an editable version of the page. I had been supposing that these links would show up the same way even if I inserted the wiki-style notation in, say, a blog entry or an article page. I'm not very far along in wiki admin, but apparently if links are doable in those kinds of pages, they work some other way. Certainly one can link to external sites from them.
