Text Float Around Images

Hi,
I have simple question on formating the main body of Tikiwiki entries. I am using Tiki v1.8.5 -Polaris. I would like the text to flow beside an image, as opposed to above and below an image. I can not figure out how to do that with the simple:

img src= width= height= align= desc= link=

feature.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tiki's simple img syntax just inserts conventional HTML inline image code. To have text flow around the image, put the image tag inside a DIV wiki plugin and float it to one side or the other.

Gary,
Thank you for taking the time to help. I found your plugin at:

Which I think is what I need. Please forgive me for asking for more help, but I am new to this, and am having some trouble getting my arms around the whole tikiwiki thing . . . could you refer me to an article, or instructions on how to install the plugin.

I really appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Paul

Just copy the plugin to the directoy. Eg, ...\tiki\lib\wiki-plugins and you are in business.

Sorry, I didn't realize Tiki 1.8.5 doesn't have a div plugin, or one that doesn't support float. The one you downloaded from my site works fine, but may be funkier in construction than the one that's now part of the regular Tiki files (as of 1.9.1?) as it was an early plugin-writing exercise for me (although my version has an extra parameter or two 😉). Anyway, as kwow said, just upload it (make sure it's still named wikiplugin_divfloating.php after the download — i.e., not an .html file) into your lib/wiki-plugins/ directory and put the syntax in your wiki page and it ought to work. Post again if you have any trouble with it, please.

Gary,
Thank you for the instructions. I was able to install the plugin thanks to your help. I saw the syntax line in the header of the plugin, but have not been successful in getting text to flow around a picture. Would it be possible for you to post a code snippet with actual values and parameters set. I saw on your Wiki all the nice examples of text flowing around pictures, and if I could see an example of the actual implementation, I could ensure I am not misunderstanding the syntax or how to actually set the parameters.
Thank you for your help.

First, a confession: some of the pages on my site use ordinary HTML tables to lay out text and images. 😑 I just shoveled them into Tiki and haven't gone back to wikify them yet. But here is an example of how I'm using the DIVFLOATING plugin on a page that is wiki syntax only:

Copy to clipboard
{DIVFLOATING(width=>250px,align=>left,float=>right,padding=>6px)}{img src=http://cunningham-lee.com/show_image.php?id=606 width=250 height=180 align=left desc=Gary_and_Drew}{DIVFLOATING}

Gary,
That did it! i am successfully floating text around pictures. Wow, that really makes it a snap to get elegant formating. Thank you so much for developing the plug in and taking the time to help me get this feature working.
