1.9.2 upgraded from 1.8.6--theme not applied to Anonymous

I understand from a conversation on #twiki that this is a bug in the upgrade script and that sylvieg is working on fixing it.

After upgrading from Tikiwiki 1.8.6 to 1.9.2 using the provided upgrade script, we experienced some weirdness with themes/logins after switching to a different theme, Codex.css:

  1. Selecting a link from the Recently Visited module caused the theme selection to revert to the theme that had been selected in 1.8.6 when the upgrade occurred.
  2. Selecting a link from the Bookmarks module caused the theme selection to revert and the user to be logged off.
  3. The new theme selection was not applied to group Anonymous, but would switch to the selected theme upon logging in.

Issues 1 and 2 went away spontaneously a couple of hours after the theme switch, but issue 3 has persisted.

4. A lingering issue is what to do to cure issue 3, as we have added content since issues began. Will we be able to simply rerun the upgrade script to fix the issue or will we need a patch?

Easy, I'm afraid. I solved that after upgrading by makeing switch theme available to anonymous users. Then log out. As anonymous, select your desiredd theme, Log in as admin again, and disable the switch_theme module for anonymous.

Hope this helps wink

Seems my post get lost....

I worked only on the page title that was not displayed anymore . Fixed in 1.9.3
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/tikiwiki/tiki/lib/breadcrumblib.php?r1=1.1.2.17&r2=1.1.2.18
can be applied on 1.9.2

For the point 3... are you sure it was the behaviour in 1.8. Because it is not very usable. Imagine that when you arrive on a site, you have the default theme. You logg in. If the logging keeps your current choice, you will have after login the default theme, and you will have to select again your favorite theme

Also, be sure it isn't a cookie in your own browser that is causing you to continue to see the old theme selection when logged out. Anonymous visitiors are given a cookie when they make a theme choice, and this persists through admin's theme changes, upgrades, etc. Try deleting that cookie for your domain (it has the theme's name) or check the site with another browser that wasn't used to make a theme choice.

sylvieg, sorry for my poor choice of language that left it looking like all three issues were known bugs.

The patch fixed our problem with page titles not displaying. Thank you for the fast work.

On issue 3, it kind of went away after changing themes again and then back, although I may be just manipulating a remaining issue to get around it. I don't allow users to switch themes, given that Tiki does not display contents consistently among the themes.

I appreciate all of the helpful thoughts.
